The museum vision is interpreted into crating an oasis We interpreted the vision of the museum into Creating an oasis with a depth to uncover the layers of the character of the Arabic art and reflect the role of Sharjah. The building stands as a structure-based revealed out of the dunes, the sand dunes are turned into green hills as enriched by the value of Art that it elevates represented in the exhibition, in addition, to be inspired by local elements like Muqarnas, Lightwell, and Barjeels. • The building volume has been carved to guide and welcome to its doors, to enter the building, the visitor has to pass by a contemporary form of the Muqarnas as a Symbolic for the creativity and a transition to a different experience. • Based on the concept of the Barjeel which used to cool down the social space in the house, an outdoor social space created with an orientation to the Dominant wind direction and a shaded water feature. • And finally, the light wells concept and a unique detail we found it in Al Hisn Fort Museum to allow a diffused indirect sunlight, we created a skylight which serves the function of an art exhibition.
